The ODU Monarchs and Navy Midshipmen faced off against each other in the 2014 WNIT. On Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, the Monarchs competed against the Navy Midshipmen in the WNIT at the Chartway Arena for a second time. In the first quarter, the Navy put the ball in the basket first. The Navy held an early lead for a few seconds. Then, Old Dominion answered the Navy's two points with a three-pointer. The Navy trailed behind the Monarchs the entire game. On Saturday, En'Dya Buford scored 18 points in Chartway Arena against Navy in the WNIT. The Monarchs shot 37.5 percent from the field in the first quarter. The Navy shot 20 percent from the field in the first quarter. Zanai Barnett-Gay was the Navy's go-to player for most of the game. Zanai was the only player who scored double digits for Navy. Zanai scored 24 points and shot perfectly from the free-throw line.


The Navy's field goal percentage didn't improve in the second quarter. The Navy shot 17.6 percent from the field in the second quarter. The Monarch's field goal percentage improved to 46.7 percent. In the second quarter, the Monarchs shot perfectly from the free-throw line.


In the third quarter, Julianna Almeida scored two points. The Navy gained a little momentum in the third quarter. Their field goal percentage improved to 33.3 percent. The Navy was able to cut the lead down to 10. The Monarchs went on a 12-0 run in the fourth quarter. The Navy was held scoreless in the fourth quarter until 56 seconds left on the play clock, scoring only four points. The Monarchs advance to the second round of the WNIT and will play at Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday at 7 pm. The Monarch's record is 18-15. Purdue FW's record is 25-8.
