The Red Wolves and Monarchs didn't let the snow stop them from coming out to play in Norfolk, Va, on February 20th. The Chartway Arena was quiet initially, but the supportive crowd showed up. Arkansas Red Wolves applied pressure to the Monarchs early in the game, but ODU handled Arkansas's early pressure and finished strong with a 95 - 88 win. The Monarchs end their losing streak by securing a victory at home.


The Red Wolves set up their full-court trap in the first quarter and stayed in the trap to cause turnovers. The Monarchs tallied 15 turnovers, while the Red Wolves tallied 10. In the first quarter, Arkansas St. scored 12 points in the paint.


En'Dya Buford led the Monarchs with 11 points in the second quarter. Buford made four out of five shots from the field and three out of four from the three-point line. En'Dya Buford's stats for the game were 32 points and 10 assists. Buford shot 40 percent from the field and 92 percent from the free-throw line. 


Arkansas St. scored 14 points off turnovers in the second quarter. Crislyn Rose and Anna Griffin led Arkansas with seven points in the second quarter. Griffin shot perfectly from the free-throw line. She made all her free throws, three-pointers, and field-goal shots. Rose shot perfectly from the free-throw line in the second quarter. The Monarchs and Red Wolves traded buckets throughout the second and third quarters.


The Monarchs and Red Wolves scored 40 points in the paint. The Arkansas bench scored 38 points, and the Monarchs' bench scored 14. The Monarchs held a 33-minute lead. They shot 53 percent from the field and 79.3 percent from the free-throw line. 


Anna Griffin led the Red Wolves in points. Griffin's stats were 23 points, three steals, and four rebounds. The Red Wolves shot 48.3 percent from the field, 35 percent from the three-point line, and 75.8 percent from the free-throw line. The Lady Monarchs play Georgia Southern at 2 pm Saturday at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Va. The Monarchs and Red Wolves have three conference games, then the Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Championship. The Championship will be played March 4 - 10 at Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Florida.
