The Monarchs defeated the Eagles in a one-sided matchup. ODU held the lead for the entire game. The Monarchs are on a five game winning streak, they walked away with a 85-48 victory. Alisha Nunley set the tone using her voice to sing the national anthem. Nunley's voice lead the Monarchs into battle, empowering them into a victory in tonight's game against the Eagles.The Lady Monarchs finished the 1st Quarter with a 17 point lead against the Eagles. The Monarchs made a statement in tonight's game.

ODU vs. NC Central was a follow through win for the Lady Monarchs after beating the ECU Pirates. The Monarchs played at an uptempo pace throughout the entire game and applied pressure. The Monarchs defensive effort led to North Carolina Central only scoring 6 points in the first quarter. The Monarchs shot 43 percent from the field. En'Dya Buford led the Monarchs in points scored with 12 points. Buford shot 80 percent from the field.

In the second quarter the Monarchs shot 50 percent from the field, while the Eagles shot 25 percent from the field. The Eagles still failed to take a lead in the second quarter. The Eagles did not score enough in the second quarter to close the scoring gap. The first quarter deficit was 17 points and the second quarter deficit was three points.

In the third quarter the NC Central Eagles only shot 11 percent from the field. The Monarchs shot 35 percent from the field and 33 percent from behind the arc. DeLisha Milton-Jones didn't let up the pressure going into the 4th quarter. The Monarchs defensive effort was high until the final buzzer. Listen to the full play-by-play here.

In the press conference DeLisha Milton-Jones mentioned the defensive effort that led the Monarchs to their fifth straight win. Riley Stack tallied six blocks, three rebounds, and 2 assists. The Monarchs are on a five game winning streak and will go head to head with Texas Tech in the HoopFest Nov. 25th at 5:30 pm in the Comerica Center in Frisco Texas. The Monarchs will also take on the Oregon Ducks Nov. 27th in the HoopFest.
