On Valentine's Day and Senior Day, the Monarchs lose 87 - 53 in the TowneBank Royal Rivalry against the James Madison Dukes. Jaylen Ponder, Simaru Fields, Simone Cunningham, Kelsey Thompson, Laila Walker, En'Dya Buford, and Hama'ya Fielder were recognized along with their families for Senior Day.

James Madison took over in the first quarter. The Dukes shot 68.8 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc. JMU's biggest lead against the Monarchs was 34 points. Bree Robinson had a total of 30 points.

In the second quarter, the Dukes shot 100 percent from three-point range and 75 percent from the free-throw line. The Monarchs failed to connect from the three-point range. JMU made it to the free-throw line four times and connected three times.
