William & Mary fell short by three points in a close game with Old Dominion.

ODU's three-point percentage made up for its faltering field goal percentage in a three-point win against William & Mary.

The Tribe and Lady Monarchs faced off against each other at the Kaplan Arena on Sunday, November 16, 2025. William and Mary started with the lead but failed to maintain it. William and Mary fell short by three points in a close game with ODU.


The Lady Monarchs shot 40 percent from behind the arc. ODU's three-point percentage made up for its faltering field goal percentage. ODU shot 27 percent from the field; William & Mary performed better from the field, shooting 32 percent. Jana "Tika" Sallman was a force to be reckoned with down low and gave The Lady Monarchs a tough time. Jana "Tika" Sallman had 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 blocks, and shot 50 percent from the field. Cassidy Geddes scored 9 pts, 4 rebounds, but shot 18 percent from the field. William and Mary outscored the Monarchs by 18 points in the paint. ODU and William & Mary both tallied 21 turnovers.

The three-pointer saved the Monarchs. Buford made 6 out of 8 three-pointers. Dalanna Carter shot one three-pointer and swished it, giving her a perfect three-point percentage. Simaru Fields scored 18 points and made 2 out of 8 three-point shots. En'Dya Buford finished the game with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist.


Riley Stack came off the bench and scored 6 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Laila Walker also grabbed 8 rebounds. The Monarchs needed Stack and Walker down low, as Cunningham's playing time decreased compared to the previous game against Delaware. Cunningham played 34 minutes against Delaware and 14 minutes against William and Mary. Listen to the full play-by-play here.
