The ODU Monarchs faced off against the Marshall Thundering Herd for the Anne Donovan Classic / Winter Homecoming on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Their last matchup was on January 7th, 2026, when ODU fell to Marshall by seven points. The Lady Monarchs played aggressively, and the energy in the building was an advantage.

In the press conference, DeLisha Milton-Jones said, "So tonight's game was an amazing one, there was an aura in the building, and it smelled like and felt like success. We had legends in attendance today." The Monarchs scored 29 points, shooting 66.7 percent from the field and 100 percent from three-point range. The Lady Monarchs beat Marshall 84-82 in the Anne Donovan Classic.

Timaya Lewis-Eutsey, leading scorer for Marshall, scored 31 points, two fewer points than she scored in their first matchup against the Monarchs. The Marshall Thundering Herd had a big third quarter. TreShondra Williams came into the game and made two big three-pointers that cut ODU's lead down. Williams was perfect from the field.

In the fourth quarter, the Monarchs began to lose momentum while Marshall gained momentum. In overtime, Marshall shot 66.7 percent from the field and 100 percent from free throw. ODU was in the bonus and shot 7 for 7 at the free throw line.
